PG Soft America's Voice Project
bringing public opinion to the public
PG Soft America's Voice Project is powered by iPOLL, an archive of public opinion data hosted by the Roper Center for Public Opinion Research at Cornell University.
When you choose a newsworthy topic to explore or click on SEARCH BY KEYWORD NOW, you will be taken to the iPOLL database portal. iPOLL contains nearly 700,000 public opinion questions from major survey research organizations, representing America's voice from 1935 to today. Follow the instructions in the slideshow to reveal the nation's opinions on any topic you can imagine.
Need more detailed instructions or troubleshooting advice? Click here to visit the iPOLL Support page at the Roper Center website.
When you reach the iPOLL portal, type your query into the first field to find survey results related to your keyword(s). You can filter your results by topic, polling organization, or date.
The results of your keyword search will appear when you click "Search iPOLL." Narrow survey questions and answers by decade, or search within your results, using the tools on the left side of the screen. To reveal responses to a particular question, click the magnifying glass icon.
Clicking the magnifying glass will reveal the topline results for each survey question along with a graph of those results and the option to see more questions from the same survey.
With a mission to cut through the fake news and bring public opinion to the public through partnerships with member libraries, PG Soft America's Voice Project shows you what Americans think about virtually every topic imaginable.
